Let’s start with the basics: when did you first know you were an Author?
I knew at age thirteen. After reading “Secrets” by Danielle Steel and “Hollywood Wives” by Jackie Collins, I had the desire to write a novel, and did so.
How many books have you published?
Currently, I have published eighteen titles.
Are there any that did not get published?
Yes. I have a lot more to write about.
Are you still going to make that happen?
Written any really bad stories that we will never see?
I’ve written some immature themed stories, but have taken the time to mature them, as my skills have improved over the years.
What do you have currently out now?
“Images” is my most recent release.
What keeps you motivated to write the next story? Life. It’s easy to write but book food comes from living.
I’m writing the finale to a series that has done very well for me. Then, I’m taking a break to read / review for relaxation.
What can we, as you’re support group, do to help you?
Host more reader based events, keep a roster of the authors you’ve hosted; this will provide a round table for authors and readers that do not know us.
What is the wildest thing a fan has said to you?
I have a wicked imagination when it comes to fruit and the items I have my characters use in my stories.
How important are reviews to you?
They are important but I’ve learned over the years to trust what feedback comes my way. Literary events make it all worthwhile.
Ever receive any hurtful reviews? Elaborate?
I have and even with the stinging comments made, I’ve learned to be a professional and let people have their say. I know my books aren’t for everyone and that’s okay by me.
What conventions are you planning to attend in 2017?
I plan to attend the Sistahs On Lit festival in April, Girls Night out in August and the Building Relationships Around Books event in October.
Are you planning any independent reader events for yourself?
I have not as of yet. I want to travel more and be seen by the readers in 2017.
Tell us one thing you’d like us to remember about you?
I’m witty, honest and very down to earth.
Any authors you recommend?
(Laughs uncontrollably) Yes! Iris Bolling, Nikkea Sharee, Cheris Hodges, Bridget Midway, Altonya Washington, Denise Jeffries, Angelia Vernon Menchan, Brian W. Smith, to name a few.
Who inspires or motivates you?
My last published book usually inspires me; it keeps me from being complacent. Music always motivates me to do whatever I desire.
Any last thoughts?
I am very appreciative for this opportunity to be so candid with you all. If you’d like to know more about me, please feel free to ask.
