Let’s start with the basics: when did you first know you were an Author?
I started trying to write a romance novel a loonngg time ago, but never completed it. I guess the writing bug has been there for the last twenty-something years ago. I didn’t actually act on it until this year, though.
How many books have you published?
Just one, my debut story, Once Broken…A Journey to Restoration. It can be found across all formats, digital and print! http://www.themastersvessel.com/books/once-broken
Are there any that did not get published?
Are you still going to make that happen?
I have been thinking about writing another book, but I’ve been dealing with a serious case of writer’s block, so we shall see. My mentor, Jacquelin Thomas, thinks I can also be a fiction writer, so that may be the next offering. But, we shall see!
Written any really bad stories that we will never see?
No. That romance story I started many years ago has since been destroyed. I don’t think I ever got past the first two sentences! LOL
What do you have currently out now?
Just my debut story, Once Broken.
What keeps you motivated to write the next story?
Anything I write, I want it to help others. So if, and when, another book comes out, it will also be geared towards empowering and inspiring others.
I’m not sure yet. I’m still trying to see if I have another book in me. But even if it’s not a book, I do have some other ideas that I am weighing.
What can we, as your support group, do to help you?
Buy the book! Spread the word! Even if the book is not for you, it may be for someone else.
What is the wildest thing a fan has said to you?
Uh…nothing! LOL Since I’m new to the literary world as a writer, I haven’t developed a fan base…yet.
How important are reviews to you?
I’m a pretty sensitive person, so I don’t know that I can take the brutality that some people write in reviews. But, those same harsh words can help me become a better writer. But since this is my first book, I haven’t received many reviews yet.
Ever receive any hurtful reviews? Elaborate?
No, not yet.
What Conventions are you planning to attend in 2017?
Well, since 2017 is just about over :-), I think I’m done traveling. However, in 2018, I will be attending the Maniac Extravaganza and the Christian Book Lover’s Retreat. I will also be On the Road with A. C. Arthur in Houston. I’m also thinking of attending BRAB since it’s close to home.
Are you planning any independent reader events for yourself?
I’m hoping to have a book release party sometime this month, but those plans are definite yet. But as for big weekend conferences…uh no! LOL I’m not that popular…yet! 🙂
Tell us one thing you’d like us to remember about you?
That I did it! Despite the odds, I did it.
Any authors you recommend?
Way too many! Beverly Jenkins, Maureen Smith, Priscilla Shirer, Jacquelin Thomas, Kim Cash Tate, Stacy Hawkins Adams, Sheryl Lister…the list could go on and on.
Who inspires or motivates you?
In some way, everyone I meet or come in contact with inspires me. I’m an introvert, so I don’t really talk much when I’m around people, but I’m always listening and observing. I hear people talk about the challenges in their life, or their success, and that inspires me to aim higher as well as teaches me things I should not do.
Any last thoughts?
I just want to thank you for this opportunity to be spotlighted! It’s always a pleasure! Check me out online!
